Second collaboration with GT-R
This is the second collaboration model between Negroni's Idea and NISSAN GT-R 2025 model. Ltd. (Brand Ambassador, Product Planning Division) and Mr. Mitsunori Morita (Senior Manager, Advanced Design Department, Global Design Division), two key persons in the development of the NISSAN GT-R, have joined us as advisors to create the “Idea”, Negroni's most popular driving sneaker. Based on the symbolic coloring of the GT-R 2025 model, the coloring and expression of the materials, as well as the fine details such as logo fittings, have been tuned to the special specifications unique to the GT-R edition. The GT-R Edition is a special edition of the GT-R.

＜Idea Corsa GT-R Edition＞
The Idea Corsa is Negroni's flagship model designed to be the ideal driving shoe. It boasts outstanding maneuverability and comfort in sports driving thanks to its powerful fit that holds the entire foot in place. Its exceptional foot feel was discovered by Mr. Tamura, who worked on the development of the GT-R and Fairlady Z for many years, and this collaboration was realized. The heel guard has been updated with a powerful design inspired by the NISSAN GT-R tail design. The accent piping line is a red color inspired by the NISMO exterior. The tongue portion has been changed to a three-dimensional shape to achieve a better fit than the Idea Corsa base grade.

＜Midnight Purple＞
In this work, we took on the challenge of developing our own midnight purple, which had been seen as impossible to reproduce in leather. By applying the “glass leather” manufacturing method, which is characterized by its sharp luster, to create a layer of polarized pearl that changes from purple to green on the surface of finely buffed leather, and by applying a thin top coat of glossy synthetic resin, we succeeded in creating a fascinating midnight purple color that changes color in various ways depending on the angle of view and the way the light hits it. ＜Beautiful emblem expression＞
The GT-R emblem, which took a lot of trial and error, is reproduced using nickel plating and two types of coloring: pearl red and black. In particular, there is only about 1mm clearance between the middle of the GT and the center of the R, making the process of injecting black paint an extremely difficult one to complete. The technique of embedding the GT-R logo into the embossed leather was designed to mimic the details of the steering wheel, and was made possible by Mr. Dasamura's persistence and the skill of Negroni's craftsmen. The technique of embossing the leather by thinning the back of the material at the level of the grain and adjusting the thickness of the grain and the core is the work of Negroni's artisans, a unique technique for this model.
The emblematic T-spec emblem has undergone a series of tests in order to obtain the unique bluish gold texture. After delicate surface treatment using a special stone gala process to bring out the color of the brass fabric, clear is painted while retaining the look of the brass to realistically reproduce the color feel of the T-spec logo, which cannot be expressed by ordinary gold plating.

＜Considerations on the fit＞
Idea Corsa's shoe tree is developed based on the 3E standard. The width and instep have sufficient volume, so it has an excellent balance to fit many Japanese foot shapes. In addition, the bucket insole with excellent arch and heel hold, developed especially for this work, improves the rigidity of the entire shoe and provides a more sensitive maneuvering sensation.　

＜Driving Considerations＞

The shoes can be used sufficiently not only for general lifestyle driving, but also for a wide range of situations such as three-pedal sports driving and tough speed attacks. The high driving performance of these shoes has been highly evaluated, and they are not only used in the development standards of leading super sports cars in Japan and abroad, but are also regularly used as evaluation criteria in the motorsports impressions of car TV programs broadcast in Europe.
