GRAN TOURER
A special project where we dive deeper into the product details of NEGRONI, going “one more mile” than usual.
This time, we focus on the Chukka boot-style driving shoe, the GRAN TOURER. The predecessor model, QUATTRO, launched in 2014, became a hit among many drivers for its perfect blend of traditional appearance and sporty details. The use of carbon leather for the upper and lining, along with the bucket insole, made the shoe feel sporty in every aspect.
The GRAN TOURER, which carries on this legacy, has evolved into a more refined silhouette. It’s a smart and elegant shoe that seamlessly fits into modern styles.
At first glance, the side view gives off a sleek impression, but from the instep to the toe, it has a well-defined volume in an S-shape, ensuring that the fit is by no means tight. The one-piece leather upper offers the softness and comfort of leather, wrapping your feet with a natural feel.
When it comes to driving functionality, the Gran Tourer definitely has the edge over the TOURER.
NEGRONI’s signature driving rubber sole is used, and the shoe is manufactured in a specialised Italian factory that has been perfecting this craft for over 20 years. The unique tread pattern and ripple-style heel design provide excellent grip balance, and the guards on both sides make it ideal for three-pedal operation in classic cars.
The heel area and top line are designed to avoid interference with the ankle when pressing the pedals, with a slightly lower height. This distinctive cut line is inspired by the racing Chukka boots from the 1960s.

One of the standout details of the Gran Tourer is the lining design applied behind the eyelets.
The combination of saddle brown lining leather and heather grey Ultrasuede® fabric not only adds a touch of elegance but also contributes significantly to the fit when putting the shoes on. The Ultrasuede® Duplex (DP) used for the inner material is the thickest 1.7mm version in the range. It offers excellent durability, along with optimal breathability and moisture permeability, making it a key element in ensuring a comfortable fit.
The insole combines saddle brown lining leather with a polyester mesh material that is moisture-wicking and diffusion-enhanced.
This mesh material is designed to adapt to the temperature fluctuations around the toes, a common issue with driving shoes. During summer, it helps control the internal temperature, and in winter, it reduces the discomfort caused by the cold, ensuring comfort throughout the year.
The slightly sharper toe shape is a perfect match for suits or business attire, making it versatile for various occasions, including business trips or travel where driving is involved. Additionally, the rubber shoelaces, a standard feature, allow for smooth on-and-off without needing to untie them, especially convenient when using a shoehorn. This feature enhances the comfort during travel and daily wear.
